Albert Lee Ropers, age 66 of rural Elmwood, Nebraska passed away on July 22, 2026, in at his home. He was born on August 27, 1959, in Lincoln, Nebraska to Albert W and Merna (Kempke) Ropers.

Growing up on the family farm south of Elmwood, Albert was baptized on October 11, 1959, and later confirmed on April 15, 1973, at First Lutheran Church (North Branch). He attended College Hill Rural School District #63 before graduating from Syracuse High School in 1977. Shortly after graduation, he joined his father as a fourth-generation farmer, a testament to his commitment to the agricultural legacy of his family.

On March 23, 1991, Albert united in marriage with Amy L. Ross at First Lutheran Church (North Branch). Together, they raised two sons, Wes and Levi. Albert also spent time working with Harry Hauschild Construction and most recently served in the Cass County Roads Department.Known for being a man of few words, Albert's love and care for his family and friends spoke volumes. He cherished the simple joys of life, such as hunting, fishing, and collecting toy International and Case tractors. His passion for Nebraska basketball games, shooting sporting clays, and watching sprint car races brought him immense happiness.

Albert is survived by his wife, Amy Ropers of Elmwood, NE; his sons, Wes Ropers of Lincoln, NE and Levi Ropers of Elmwood, NE, his granddog Otis; sisters, Shirley Guy of Lincoln, NE and Sharon (Kurt) Brandt of Pleasant Dale, NE; and his nephews, Curtis Guy and Craig Guy, along with niece Allison (Ryan) Haskin. He is also survived by other family and a host of friends. 

Albert was preceded in death by his parents Albert & Merna Ropers and his brother-in-law, Terry Guy. 

A graveside service will be held at First Lutheran (North Branch) Cemetery on July 29, 2026, at 10:00 am with Pastor LuRae Hallstrom officiating. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. 

Memorials may be directed to the Elmwood Fire & Rescue Department.
