Alberta P. Bogema, 99 of Shenandoah, IA, formerly of Douglas, NE, was born on July 20, 1920 to Albert & Lena Eckert in Grants Pass, OR. She passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2020 at the Elm Heights Care Center.

Alberta married Harvey Bogema on February 27, 1950 in Red Oak, IA. She worked as a mother, grandmother, housewife and helped on the farm. She worked in the Care Center in Ashland and worked with Harvey in Douglas school. She loved to garden and can. She liked sewing, quilting and hook rug pictures. She was active in the Douglas Methodist Church. Alberta loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She is survived by four daughters: Colleen (Paul) Porter, Grandson: Larry (Stacey) Dirks, Lucas & Sara; Doris (Melvyn) Thayer, Grandchildren: Gregory (RoxAnne) Boldt & Elliott, Rhonda (Tom) Eis & Krista & Caitlin, Alan Boldt & Kathryn & Emmett; Loraine (Leo) Mace; Grandchildren: Lori Wilken, Cory (Becca) Wilken & Nicole & Coby, Robin (Traid) Rader, Chad Wilken & Peyton & Lukas; Carolyn (Mel) Morrison, Grandchildren: Angela (Brian) Moss & Claryssa & Brodi, Sherry Finchum; Great Grandchildren: Kayla Hatch, Katlyn Mittan, Dylan Chesson, 3 Great Great Grandchildren: Miah, Lily & Ryker Hatch.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, 4 brothers: Walter, Vernon, Virgil, Irvin Eckert, Grandson: Robert Dirks.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.
