Allen William Schroeder was born January 28, 1922, rural Dunbar, Nebraska, to Edward Fred and Alvina Sophia Dorothea (Kehlbeck) Schroeder. He passed away, Thursday, June 3, 2010, at the Good Samaritan Center, in Syracuse, NE, at the age of 88 years, 4 months, and 6 days.
Allen married Beverly Damme, August 17, 1946, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, and to this union they raised Craig, Doyle, and Lavonne. He had served in the Army from 1942 until 1945. Allen was a member of American Legion Post #246, of Talmage, NE, served in World War II, as a Tank Commander in the 10th Armored Division. He was in Bastogne, Germany, and The Battle of The Bulge.
Allen is survived by his wife Beverly, of Cook, NE, children Craig & Marcia Schroeder, Doyle & Joan Schroeder, Lavonne & Ronald Niedermeyer, all of Talmage, NE, 6 grandchildren: Tiffany and husband Michael Moss, of Lincoln, NE, Cory Schroeder, of Omaha, NE, Patrick and wife Kari Schroeder, of Lincoln, NE Emily and husband Mark Belau, of Centennial, CO, Michael and wife Toni Niedermeyer, of Talmage, NE, Tracy and husband Keith McWilliams, of Syracuse, NE and 9 great grandchildren: Brennan Schroeder, of Lincoln, NE, Emma Moss, Max Moss, of Lincoln, NE, Derek Niedermeyer, Dillon Niedermeyer, Dustin Niedermeyer, of Talmage, NE, Tirsa McWilliams, of Lincoln, NE, Mariah McWilliams, and Mitchell McWilliams, both of Syracuse, NE, brother Raymond & Clara Schroeder, of Syracuse, NE, sister Leona Bando, of Nebraska City, NE, sisters-in-law Vernelle Haertel, of Waverly, NE, Elva Damme, of Kearney, NE, Jackie Hubbs, of Ft. Smith, AK, along with many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be Monday, June 7, 2010, at 10:30 A.M. at St. John's United Church of Christ (McWilliams), rural Talmage, Nebraska, with burial in the Church Cemetery to follow. Family suggests memorials to the Families Choice.
VISITATION will be Saturday, June 5, 2010 from 1 P.M. until 9 P.M., and Sunday, June 6, 2010 from 9 A.M. until 9 P.M. with family greeting friends from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. on Sunday at the Funeral Home.
