Alvin H. Hillman was born on September 24, 1915 in rural Otoe, Nebraska to Fritz and Anna (Ottens) Hillman. He passed away on September 19, 2011 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Syracuse, Nebraska at the age of 95 years, 11 months, and 26 days.
He was united in marriage on May 5, 1937 at First Lutheran Church (North Branch) to Viola Kastens and together they raised 5 daughters, Marilyn, Phyllis, Janet, Dianne, and Bea. Alvin farmed in rural Otoe all of his life. He was also involved with the Otoe Town Board, Avoca Fire Department, District #76 Rural School Board, First Lutheran Church (North Branch) Cemetery Board and Church Council. He also received the AK-SAR-BEN 100 year farm award in 1979.
He is survived by 5 daughters Marilyn Ach and Howard, of Friend, NE, Phyllis Hillman, of Hemet, CA, Janet Long & husband Bob of Otoe, NE, Dianne Ingermann, of Covington, TX and Bea Seybert & husband Terry, of Lincoln, NE, sisters Bernice Lenker, of Syracuse, NE, Marian Curtis, of Downey, CA, and Laverta Emshoff, & husband Elvin, of Syracuse, NE, grandchildren, Lora Wilborn, David Biere, Mary Sova, Anthony Gabrielli, Christina Endres, Kim Stone, Stacey Miles, Scott Miles, Chris Ingermann, Matthew Ingermann, Bryon Ingermann, Michelle Zimmer, Wendy Wiese, 21 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Wife Viola of 64 years, 1 brother, 6 sisters and 1 great Grandson.
Funeral Services will be Friday September 23 at 11:00 A.M. at First Lutheran Church (North Branch) with Rev. Jackie Tjarks officiating. Burial will be at First Lutheran Cemetery (North Branch)
Visitation will be Thursday from 9 A.M. until 9 P.M. with family greeting friends from 6 until 8 P.M. at the funeral home.
