Obituary

Andy J. Jackman, age 63 of Louisville, passed away at his home on Thursday, April 17, 2025. He was born on July 25, 1961, in Omaha to John & Melva (Hare) Jackman. Andy graduated from Southeast Community College in Milford as a machinist.

On July 17, 1984, Andy married his first wife, Cindy Hayden, in Weeping Water. Cindy was a strong partner in all aspects of Andy's life, including helping him pursue his business, A Jackman Portable Industries. They were married for 17 years until Cindy's passing in 2001. Andy later found love again and married Sue (Kay) Thomas on September 30, 2011, in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Andy was a founding member of Faith Missionary Church in Weeping Water, where he served as a deacon and was a vital part of the worship team for over 40 years. A self-taught musician, Andy played guitar, bass guitar, and banjo, and had a voice that lifted others in praise. His faith was the foundation of his life—he loved Jesus and lived to serve others, always ready with a teachable moment, or a helping hand.

He led prayer groups at church on Wednesdays and Sundays, actively participated when the men of the church would serve breakfast and was known throughout his community for his generosity and kindness—especially toward widows, whom he often supported with homemade meals and companionship.

Andy began working at Ash Grove in January of 1985, where he handled a variety of duties until his recent retirement. In the early 1990s, he ran a trash route in Louisville and plowed snow for many in town throughout the years.

He is survived by his wife Sue Jackman; children Christopher Jackman & significant other Lisa Derby, Rebecca Jackman & husband Daniel Richardson Jr.; stepsons Ben Thomas & Adam Thomas; grandchildren Araia, Jakob, Wyatt, Betty, Keenan, Raylan; great grandson Maddix; sisters Donna Jackman and Debbie & husband Tim Johnson; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Cindy; and his granddaughter, Kaija Lynn, in 2003.

A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, April 23, at 11:00 a.m. at the Faith Missionary Church in Weeping Water. Private burial will be at the Riverview Cemetery in Louisville.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 22, from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. with family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home in Louisville.

Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
