Anna Mae "Ann" Powell, 71 of Syracuse, passed away on February 25, 2018 at the Syracuse Community Memorial Hospital. She was born on February 2, 1947 to Ernest & Catherine (Kucera) Fricke in David City, NE.

Ann married Rodney Powell on June 21, 1969 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in David City. She worked as a Daycare provider in Syracuse for over 25 years. She enjoyed being a mother to all the kids. Ann was very active at St. Paulinus Catholic church, belonging to many groups and helping out wherever it was needed. She also enjoyed her card clubs and craft sisters.

Ann is survived by her Husband: Rodney Powell; Sons: Joshua (Angie) Powell, Grant (Jennifer) Powell; Grandchildren: Maxwell & Lillian Powell, Oscar & Hattie Powell; Siblings: Benjamin (Arlene) Fricke, Rose Marie Kobza, Arliene (Joseph) Kobza, Ramona Davis, Marilyn (Zeke) Zegers; Sister-in-law: Andrea Fricke; also numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, Daughter: Jane Catherine Powell; Brother and Sister-in-law: Christopher & Gladys Fricke; Brother: Garfield "Gary" Fricke; Sister: Eveliene Daro; and Brothers-in-law: Richard Kobza and Robert Davis.

Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 2, 2018 at 10 A.M. at St. Paulinus Catholic Church in Syracuse. Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in David City at 2:30 P.M. also on Friday.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 1 from 9 A.M. until 4 P.M. at the funeral home, then at St. Paulinus Catholic Church from 5-7 P.M. with a rosary at 7 P.M. The family will greet friends from 6-7 P.M. at the church.

Memorials are suggested to the Family's Choice.
