Anna Mullis Remmenga, 91, formerly of Syracuse, passed away February 12, 2020 at her home in Green Valley, Arizona. She was born April 21, 1928 in Dunbar to Theodore and Catherine Schaefer.
Anna married Harry Mullis February 3, 1949 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Dunbar. They raised two daughters on the Mullis homestead where they operated a Grade A dairy. Upon Harry's death in 1973, Anna opened The Needle's Eye in Syracuse and became the first female member of the Syracuse Chamber of Commerce. Anna had a lifelong love of farming, singing and sewing. She donated many quilts to charity. She married Clifford Remmenga on November 24, 1978. They enjoyed traveling, dancing and playing cards with family.
Anna is survived by her daughters Anita Fisk (husband Thomas) and Loretta Klingenberg (husband Dean); grandchildren Andrew Klingenberg (wife Kathryn), Carol Fisk, Robert Fisk (wife Emily); great grandson Ethan Klingenberg; sisters Theresa Werlinger, Dolores Campbell (husband Sanford), Francis Lollmann (husband Joseph).
She was preceded in death by both husbands, her parents, a sister Mary Margaret and a brother Bernard Schaefer.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 22 at 1:30 P.M. at St. Paulinus Catholic Church in Syracuse. Burial will be at Park Hill cemetery.
Visitation from 9am until 7pm with family greeting friends from 5-7pm Friday, February 21 at the funeral home. A rosary will follow at 7pm.
Memorials are suggested to the American Parkinson Disease Association.
