In Loving Memory of Ardith Alberta Hopp

Ardith Alberta Hopp was born on May 31, 1944 at the Tecumseh Hospital to Clifford F. and Beulah Ellen (Swanson) Palmer. She weighed in at 6 pounds. Her Dad was stationed in Georgia, so Ardith and her Mom lived at her Grandpa and Grandma Swanson's home south of Cook. Ardith was confirmed by Rev. Kenneth Hull at the Methodist Church in Cook, NE. Ardie died on Saturday, July 28, 2007, at home with her family after a 6 year battle with pancreatic cancer. Ardith was 63 years, 1 month, and 28 days old.

Ardie married Gordon R. Hopp on October 4, 1963 at the Methodist Church in Cook, Nebraska. This union was blessed with 2 daughters - Cheryl Suzanne, and Carrie Jo. Ardith and her family lived many places - Johnson, Syracuse, and Unadilla - in Nebraska, and Gulf Port, Mississippi. Ardith had many interests including sewing, bowling, animals, kids, softball, volleyball, and outside activities. Many of these activities turned into business ventures. Her occupations included being the former Unadilla Village Clerk, owner of the Hopp Shop Drapes & Concessions, and Ardie's Funnel Cakes. She was also an Auction Clerk/Cashier, a Babysitter, and worked at both Bob Morrissey's Law Office, and at Farmers Mutual. She mowed the Unadilla Cemetery for 24 years, Organizations that Ardy belongs to included Bluebirds Across Nebraska, Unadilla Rescue Squad, former officer of the Syracuse Women's Bowling Association, Former President of the SE Nebraska Clerks Association, Former President of the Unadilla Mrs. Jaycees, member of Belles of Mt. Hope, and the Johnson Co. 4-H.

Ardie is survived by her husband of 43 years - Gordon Hopp of Unadilla, 2 Daughters: Cheryl Suzanne Hopp and special friend Curtis Bohling, Carrie Jo Bischoff and husband Todd of Cook; 2 Grandchildren: Kirsten Elizabeth and Barrett Ryan Bischoff, Sam her Black Lab Dog; 1 Sister: Donna and husband Sam Palmer of Omaha,; 1 Brother Duane Palmer and wife Jeanette of Johnson; Nephew: Garret Palmer and Niece: Shelby Palmer both of Lincoln; and Mother-in-law: Marguerite Hopp of Syracuse. She is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Ardie was preceded in death by her parents, and father-in-law: Harold Hopp.

Visitation (No Viewing) will be held on Tuesday, July 31, 2007 from 9:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. with family greeting friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home.

A Open House in Ardie's Memory will be held on Wednesday, August 1, 2007 from 1:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. at the Duncan Building in Unadilla, Nebraska.

Private family burial will be held at St. Paul's United Church of Christ Cemetery (Osage) in Rural Cook, Nebraska.

Memorials are suggested to the Pancreatic Cancer Research or the Unadilla Rescue Squad.
