On September 7, 1984, Arlan married Linda Aude at the First Plymouth Church in Lincoln. Together they enjoyed taking many trips through the years. Arlan dedicated 41 years of his career to the Western Paper company, serving as the warehouse manager.
Arlan's passion for coaching softball touched many lives in Lincoln over the years. He found joy in friendly card games, particularly relishing his Tuesday night pitch sessions with his card club. An outdoorsman at heart, Arlan found solace in hunting and fishing, nurturing his yard and gardens with great care throughout the seasons. Every autumn, he lent a helping hand to his father-in-law during harvest time, and he found excitement at the horserace tracks. Later in life as mobility became a challenge, he enjoyed putting together many puzzles.
