Arlene H. Gruber
Arlene Henrietta (Gartner) Gruber was born September 16, 1923 on a farm in Unadilla, NE to Henry & Anna (Hahne) Gartner. She passed peacefully at the Louisville Care Center on November 7, 2012 at the age of 89.
She married on May 23, 1948 to Ernest Gruber and moved to Louisville, NE. Arlene was a homemaker and enjoyed baking, sewing, gardening and canning while raising her family. She was involved in United Methodist Women, various evening social groups, taught Sunday School and Bible School for many years, and was a Cub Scout den mother. She enjoyed traveling to visit family and friends.
Survived by husband Ernest Gruber, sons and daughter-in-laws Terry (Jackie) Gruber, Loveland, CO; Rick (Marlene) Gruber, Louisville, NE; Randy (Gina) Gruber, Shawnee, KS. Grandchildren Travis Gruber, Rancho Santa Margarita, CA; Caleb Gruber, Denver, CO; Sheri (Shane) Meredith, Omaha, NE; Nick Gruber (fiancée Tammy Palmer), Omaha, NE. Great-grandchildren Prestin and Payton, Omaha, NE. Sister-in-laws Viola Gartner and Averil Gartner of Unadilla, NE and Mary Gartner of Syracuse, NE; Brother-in-law Robert (Dick) Fredrickson and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by parents Henry and Anna Gartner, brothers Ralph, Randall and Alton (Hantz) Gartner; Brother-in-laws John (Jiggs) and Robert Gruber; Sisters-in-law Pauline Fredrickson and Lorene Gruber.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 10:30 am at the First United Methodist Church , Louisville, NE. Burial at Riverview Cemetery in Louisville, NE.
