Obituary

Arnold G Vogler

Arnold was born January 15, 1923 on the farm in rural Louisville, Nebraska, to George and Anna (Jochim) Vogler. He passed away January 24, 2008 at Midlands Hospital in Papillion, Nebraska at the age of 85 years and 9 days.

Arnie was baptized on February 11, 1923 at Immanuel Lutheran Church by Reverend Hartman, and was confirmed here on June 20, 1937 by this same minister. Arnold married Betty Graham on June 8, 1947 here at Immanuel Lutheran Church by Reverend Cattau. To this union they raised one son Marvin. Arnie was involved in many activities during his life. He was always on the go—in fact he is on his 4th leg! He was a truck driver for 60 years hauling grains, animals, dozers, hay, corn cobs, and liquid fertilizer. For many years, he donated his services hauling animals from the Cass County Fair 4-H Animal Auction to the livestock market. Arnie shelled corn and the picture on the memorial folder is Arnie with his corn sheller. Arnie sold Crows Seed Corn and Archer Oil. Arnie and Betty raised Peacocks on their farm. Together, Arnie and Arly Ragoos planted the windbreak north of the Church. Arnie was a member of the Louisville Rural Fire Service for 33 years! He enjoyed playing pitch and pinochle. Arnie shelled black walnuts. Many people have stated that you would never find a shell in any black walnut meats that Arnie had shelled! If fact, it could be said that today the Squirrels of Cass County are throwing a party because now they don't have to compete with Arnie for Black Walnuts!

Survivors include his wife Betty, and son Marvin, both of Louisville, NE, and grandson Christopher Noah Vogler, of Omaha, sister-in-law Gertrude Vogler, of Mesa Arizona, along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents George and Anna, brothers Alvin and wife Clara, George Jr. and his wife Alberta, Leonard and his wife Dorothy, Carl (Bob), Harold and his wife Kathryn, and sister Edith and her husband Fred Brammer.

Visitation will be Saturday, January 26, 2008 from 12 noon until 9 P.M. and Sunday from 9 A.M. until 9 P.M. with a Community Prayer Service at the Funeral Home at 8:30 P.M. everyone is Welcome.

Funeral will be Monday, January 28, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Louisville, NE
