OBITUARY
ARTHUR J. LAMBORN, Jr.
Arthur J. Lamborn, Jr. was born on December 11, 1921 in Palmyra, Nebraska to Arthur J. and Josephine (Downey) Lamborn, Sr. He departed this life on Monday, September 15, 2008 at the Good Samaritan Center in Syracuse, Nebraska at the age of 86 years 9 months and 4 days.
Arthur grew up in the Palmyra area and graduated with the Palmyra Class of 1939. He was united in marriage on May 23, 1942 to Letha Luff at the Paisley Congregational Church in Unadilla, Nebraska. In January of 1943, he enlisted in the Army Air Force during World War II and served his country until February of 1946 when he was discharged. After returning from the war, he worked for Northern Natural Gas in various roles, including mechanic, until 1968. He also worked for Ovaltine for several years.
He was a member of the American Legion Post #100 of Syracuse, Nebraska, the United Methodist Church in Unadilla, Nebraska, past President of the Unadilla Volunteer Fire Department, and past treasurer of the Unadilla School Board.
Arthur enjoyed husker football, caring for his dogs and spending time with his family. He was very proud to have designed and built his own home in Unadilla, were he did all the carpentry, wiring, plumbing, masonry and concrete.
He is survived by his many nieces and nephews from Nebraska, North Carolina, Colorado and North Dakota.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Letha Lamborn and brother Robert Lamborn.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2008 at 10:30 A.M. at Fusselman-Wymore Funeral Home with Rev. Tony Dawson officiating.
Visitation will be Wednesday, September 17th from 9:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home
Interment in the Unadilla Cemetery, Unadilla, Nebraskka
