Arva Ekhoff was born February 13, 1926, in Syracuse, Nebraska, to Carl and Ella (Reimer) Post. She passed away at Bryan LGH East, Lincoln, NE on Friday, May 16, 2008, at the age of 82 years, 3 months and 3 days.

Arva married Glenn Ekhoff, on February 23, 1946, in Syracuse, NE, and to this union they had 4 children Jerry, Gene, Barb, and Dallas. She worked as a cook at the Cook School, in Cook, NE, at Campbell's Soup in Tecumseh, NE, and at the Locker Plant in Cook, NE. Arva was Treasurer for Post 360 Legion Auxiliary, in Cook, for more than 30 years. She was a 50 year member of Grace Lutheran Church, and always had a big garden, along with raising chickens, milking, and her flowers. Arva and Glenn loved to go Square Dancing, of which she made many of her Square Dancing dresses. She and Glenn enjoyed attending Horse Shows.

Arva is survived by her son Jerry and wife Mary Ekhoff, of Aurora, NE, son Gene and wife Diane Ekhoff, of Cook, NE, and daughter Barb and husband Darwin Shriver, of Underwood, IA, along with 9 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren, sister Berdine Heine, of Mesa, AZ, and brother Donald and wife Delores Post, and Harold and wife Bonnie Post, both of Syracuse, NE,

Arva is preceded in Death by her parents, Carl and Ella Post, husband Glenn in 1992, and son Dallas in 1954


Arva's Funeral Service will be Tuesday, May 20, 2008 @ 10:00 A.M. at Grace Lutheran Church, Cook, Nebraska, with burial at Cook Cemetery, Cook, Nebraska
