Barbara Ann (Barta) Nickel was born July 16, 1942 at Milford, Nebraska to James and Julia (Zoz) Barta. She died on Friday, January 23rd at her home in Elmwood at the age of 72 years, 6 months, and 7 days

Barb married Charles LaVern Nickel on April 23, 1960 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in – Manley, Nebraska. She was a housewife. Barb enjoyed talking with friends and family on the phone.

She is survived by: daughter - Charlene and David Hines of Brookfield, MO, son and daughter-in-law James and Rochelle Nickel, of Malcolm, NE, daughter – Lisa Nickel of Elmwood, NE Grandchildren and great-grandchildren

Barb was preceded in death by her parents – James and Julie Nickel,, husband – Charles LaVern Nickel, son – Thomas Nickel, and daughter – Melissa Nickel and great grandson – Carter Vrbka

Funeral Services will be Tuesday, January 27th at 10:30 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Elmwood, NE. Visitation is Monday January 26th from 1-9 with family greeting friends from 6-8 at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Elmwood Fire Department.
