Bernice Catherine Noerrlinger, 96 of Cook went to be with our Lord on June 19, 2022 at her home in Linden View, Syracuse, Nebraska. She was born October 7, 1925 to Elmer and Mildred (Richter) Hopp. She married Walter Noerrlinger, Jr. on November 28, 1945 at St. Paul's UCC (Osage) in rural Cook and were together for nearly 68 years. Junior and Bernice had 2 sons, Doyle & Bruce and one daughter, Diane. They were also blessed with 9 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Bernice loved her family!
She was baptized, confirmed and married at St. Paul's United Church of Christ (Osage) where she also played the organ for many, many years. She loved music and could sit down and play any song. If she didn't know it, all you had to do was hum it and she would start to play. She also enjoyed playing the accordion and her family loved listening to her.
Bernice was a farm wife but also worked at the ASCS offices, Farmers Bank of Cook, Cook Grocery Store and owned the Cook Café. Everyone loved her pies and rolls, long after she closed the café, as she loved to bake and share with others. She will always be remembered for her warm smile and her positive attitude no matter what.
She is survived by sons Doyle (Carol) Noerrlinger of Smithsville, MO, Bruce (Diane) Noerrlinger of Cook, daughter Diane (Steve) Probst of Blair, nine grandchildren & spouses, seventeen great grandchildren, sister-in-law Carolyn (Mrs. Myron) Hopp, Arvilla (Mrs. Don) Noerrlinger, Helen Fae (Mrs. Leonard) Haveman, Verneel Noerrlinger, and brother-in-law Robert Noerrlinger & many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by parents Elmer & Mildred Hopp, husband Walter "Junior" Noerrlinger, brother Myron Hopp, brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law Fritz & Ruth Doeden, Kenneth Kelso, Ellsworth & Doris Stohlman, Darrell Noerrlinger, Gale & Eleanor Jean Bock, Donald Noerrlinger, Chester & Betty Noerrlinger, Leonard Haveman, LeRoy & Joan Haveman, and Richard & Ruby Wilson.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 25 at 1 p.m. at St Paul's United Church of Christ (Osage) in rural Cook. The service will be live streamed on the Fusselman-Allen-Harvey Facebook page. Burial will follow at St. Paul's UCC Cemetery (Osage).
