Bertha Jane Zorkowski was born on December 14, 1923, in Nebraska City, Nebraska, to Chester and Doris (Brittian) Wischmeyer. Bertha died Monday, August 17, 2015, at the Bellevue Medical Center in Bellevue, Nebraska, at the age of 91 years, 8 months, and 3 days.

Bertha married Stephen Zorkowski on April 10, 1943, in Ralston, Nebraska, and to this union the raised two children Stephen Jr. and Mary Lou. She loved going to the Casino's, in her earlier times she and Stephen loved dancing, and even took lessons at Author Murray Studio's, and would teach the students who wished to learn after school. Bertha was a 4-H leader, worked at the Bomber Plant, Sewed Clothes for the Children's Orphanage, had a Ceramic Shop and she enjoyed Canning.

Bertha is survived by her son Stephen Zorkowski Jr. and Vickie Greenfield, daughter Mary Lou Gibson and Charles Berge, 5 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.

Preceded in Death by parents Chester and Doris Wischmeyer, and husband Stephen in 2012.

Graveside service will be Friday, August 21, 2015, at 10:00 A.M. at St. John's Cemetery, 7506 South 36th Street, Bellevue, NE. The Family Suggests Memorials in Lieu of flowers to the Nebraska Children's Home.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 20, 2015 from 1:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. with the family greeting friends at the Funeral Home from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
