Betty L. Gilfert, 95 of Otoe, passed away on December 29, 2018 at the Syracuse Good Samaritan Center. She was born on May 29, 1923 to John C. & Julia A. (Beason) Horner in Otoe, Nebraska.

Betty started working at Pendleton Mills in Nebraska City after graduating high school. She continued working at there until her retirement. She loved animals, especially dogs and had many as pets over the years.

She is survived by her Nieces: Jan Haase, Risa (Jerry) Harris, Martha (Cameron) Cummins; Nephew: John Horner; also many Great Nieces & Nephews and Great Great Nieces & Nephews.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husbands: Arnold Hunter, Henry Becker & Arlo Gilfert, Siblings & Spouses: Clarence (Mary) Horner, Melvin (Estelle) Horner and Velma (Herb) Tiede.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, January 4th at 1 P.M. at the Wyuka Cemetery in Nebraska City.

Memorials are suggested to the Nebraska Humane Society.
