Betty J. Messer, 86 of Burr, passed away on June 24, 2022 at Hillcrest Firethorn in Lincoln. She was born on March 11, 1936 to Paul & Dorothy (Schoenleber) Schulz in Staplehurst, NE. On July 31, 1970 she married William "Bill" Messer. Together Betty & Bill opened The Family Pub in Burr and ran it for 27 years.

Betty enjoyed most everything life brought to her. She especially loved bowling, shuffleboard, playing cards and any time spent together with family & friends. Strong, forgiving, understanding, caring and sassy are just a few characteristics that Betty will be remembered for. Together with her husband, Bill, they made The Family Pub truly about family.

She is survived by her children Rochele Brown of Lincoln, Scott Messer of Weeping Water, Kendra Messer of Atlanta, GA; 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, twins Michael & Denise and brother Melvin Schulz.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 6 at 11:30 a.m. at the Hope Lutheran Church in Burr. The service will be livestreamed on the Fusselman Facebook page. Burial will be at the Park Hill Cemetery in Syracuse. Lunch will be served at Mal's Bar and Grill in Unadilla following the burial.

Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
