Betty Jane Sautter, 89, of Grand Island, formerly of Syracuse, died Monday September 24, 2018 with family by her side.

Betty was born November 10, 1928 in Lincoln, NE to Jay and Zelma (Artz) Luse. She graduated from Lincoln High School and went on to work for the assistant U.S attorney office.

On June 8, 1949 Betty married the love of her life Howard Sautter in Lincoln, NE. Due to Howard's career they moved often and lived in Lincoln, McCook, Pawnee City, and settled in Syracuse, NE.

Betty was an accomplished pianist and played for many special occasions and every Sunday at church. She was a Teacher aide at Syracuse High School Library, a member of several organizations, and a volunteer at Bryan Memorial and the thrift shop in Syracuse for many years.

Betty loved her boys, her grandchildren, big earrings, lots of "bling", her music, and dancing. She was a special lady.

She is survived by her children, Mike (Sheila) Sautter of Grand Island, NE, Steve Sautter (Chris Truka) of Aurora, CO, and Don (Pam) Sautter of California. Also surviving her are 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded by her parents; husband, Howard; and sister, Darlene Webb.

Funeral services will be held of Friday, October 5, 2018 at 10:30 AM at the United Methodist Church in Syracuse with the Pastor Dick Webster officiating. Private burial of ashes will be held for the immediate family following the services and lunch.

In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date.

Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home and Fusselman-Allen-Harvey of Syracuse are entrusted with arrangements.
