Betty Lou Sawyer age 83 Syracuse, Nebraska, passed away at Syracuse Good Samaritan Center February 17, 2011.

Betty was born August 11,1927, in Syracuse, NE, to John & Bertha (Harms) Petersen. She was married on March 9, 1946, to LeRoy Sawyer, in Marysville, Kansas. Betty has worked for over 50 years of dedicated service in Dietary at Syracuse Public Schools, Syracuse Good Samaritan Center and Community Memorial Hospital. She was a member of VFW #5547 Ladies Auxiliary, United Methodist Women, 40 years of volunteer work at the VA Hospital, Meals on Wheels, Hospital Thrift shop, Board Member at West View Manor, Enjoyed Card Clubs, lifelong friends and grandchildren.

Betty is survived by her son Tom and wife Cathy Sawyer of Nebraska City, NE, daughter Connie Gross and husband Brad Trimble of Phoenix, AZ, grandchildren Kristi and husband Denny Good of Phoenix, AZ, Stacy and husband Chris Salvadori of New Port News, VA, Suzy and husband Shawn Dean of Denver, CO, Scott Sawyer of Syracuse, NE, Mike and wife Melanie Apfel of South Hutchinson, KS, Michelle and husband Todd Aselin of New York, NY, Christopher Apfel of Lincoln, NE, Mark and wife Lindsey Apfel of Bellevue, NE, Michelle Crotts of Guyman, OK, Michael and wife Rachele Trimble of Guyman, OK, Misty and husband Doug Stover of Denver, CO, 15 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great Great Grandchild, Loving Brother & Sister-in-law Glenn & Emily Petersen, and Aunt Lilah Harms. Nieces, Nephews, Many Many special friends.

Betty is preceded in Death By Parents, Husband.

Memorial Services will be Tuesday February 22 at 1 P.M. United Methodist Church, Syracuse, Nebraska, with burial at Park Hill
