Betty F. Scholting was born November 5, 1932 to Aulty and Laura (Dobbs) Hinkle. Betty passed away April 2, 2012 while living at the Louisville Assisted Living Center in Louisville, NE at the age of 79 years, 4 months and 29 days. After graduating from high school, she went on to college for 2 years and taught in rural country schools for 4 years.
Betty married Benjamin (Ben) Scholting on June 1, 1952 in Louisville, NE. To this union were born 4 sons Michael, Merlin, Mark and Jeff.
Betty became a member of Faith Missionary Church in Weeping Water. She enjoyed belonging to several clubs such as the Extension, Birthday and Pinochle. The outdoors was where you could find her working in the garden or her flower beds. Ben and Betty enjoyed traveling to many parts of the United States.
Betty is survived by her sons: Michael (Kim) Scholting of Louisville, Merlin (Sheila) Scholting of Gretna, NE, Mark (Kim) Scholting of Springfield, NE and Jeff (Barb) Scholting also of Gretna, NE; 13 grandchildren: Andrea, Brett, Adam, Dan, Kelsie, Amanda, Megan, Brandon, Erin, Matthew, Trevor, Mirissa and Ethan. 4 great grandchildren; brother: Roger (Ruby) Hinkle of Logansport, IN; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by parents, husband: Ben Scholting; brothers: Roy and Ronnie; sisters: Mary and Evelyn.
Funeral services will held on Thursday, April 5, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at the Faith Missionary Church, 306 South East St., Weeping Water, NE with the Rev. Adam DiMike officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 4, 2012 from 10:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home in Louisville, NE with the family receiving friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P. M.
Burial will be at Emmanuel Evangelical United Brethren Cemetery, rural Murdock, NE. following the funeral. The family suggests memorials to Faith Missionary Church – Weeping Water, NE.
