Obituary

Blanche Hopp, age 95 of Louisville, Nebraska was born on July 30, 1930, in Florence, Nebraska to Oliver and Mildred (Krenzer) Fairbrass. She passed away peacefully on April 23, 2026, at Nye Summit in Louisville, Nebraska, . 

Blanche's early life was spent in Florence, Nebraska, she was baptized a Lutheran at University Hospital following a serious accident at the tender age of two. Demonstrating exceptional academic ability, she was recognized as the valedictorian of Ponca School in Florence. On February 3, 1952, she married Herbert C. Hopp at Immanuel Lutheran Church and together they made their home in rural Louisville and raised their children, Kimberlie and David. In 1953, Blanche was confirmed a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, where she became an active participant in the congregation, serving as a Sunday School teacher and volunteering with the Ladies Aid. She worked for F.W. Woolworth's Store for eight years, excelling as the New Merchandise Supervisor and Personnel Director.

She was a founding member and served as long-time board chair of the Cornhusker Country Music Club in Louisville. Additionally, she was a dedicated member of the Dutch Academy Club for 25 years and participated actively in the Lads and Lassies Square Dance Club. Herb and Blanche loved to travel and camp. She especially enjoyed Christmas trips to Branson, MO. 

She is survived by her daughter, Kim Scholting of Louisville, NE; her son, David Hopp of Louisville, NE; and her cherished grandchildren: Andi (Jason) Emmons, Brett (Jamie) Scholting, Kelsie (Aaron) Stewart, Megan (Lane) Haller, and Mirissa Scholting; great grandchildren, Landon & Karsyn Emmons, Taylor (James) Dirkx, Caden Neumann, Quinn, Emmy, Carter & Addy Scholting, Josslynn, Tyson & Reagan Stewart, and Benjamin "Arlo" Haller, and great great Grandchildren, Hadley & Clara Dirkx. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Mildred Fairbrass, son-in-law, Mike Scholting, sisters and brothers-in-law, Opal (Dennis) Johnson, Mildred (Eldon) Blackledge, Ella (John) Wittstruck, Florence Andersen and Lillian (Paul) Wittstruck. 

A visitation will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church on Friday, May 1, 2026, from 1:00 pm until 8:00 PM with family greeting friends from 6:00-8:00 PM.

Funeral service will take place at Immanuel Lutheran CHurch on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 10:00 am. with Rev. Jon Sollberger officating.

Burial will follow the service in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. 

Memorials may be directed to Immanuel Lutheran Church or the Cornhusker Country Music Club.
