Obituary

Bob Leroy Fuxa of Cedar Creek, Nebraska passed away on his 86th birthday, July 4, 2023.  He was born on July 4, 1937, to Leonard and Lydia (Tonar) Fuxa in Ord, Nebraska

Bob attended primary school at Ashland Park and later graduated from South High School in 1955, setting the stage for a remarkable journey ahead.  He was united in marriage on April 4, 1959, to Patricia L. Fitzpatrick in Omaha, Nebraska.

Bob embarked on a career as a Carpenter, a path that would shape his life's work. With his keen eye for detail and unwavering commitment to excellence, Bob's craftsmanship left a lasting impact on countless homes and buildings throughout the area. His skills as a carpenter led him to become a respected Lake Developer, and he took great pride in shaping the natural landscapes into breathtaking retreats for others to enjoy.

In addition to his carpentry and development ventures, Bob also ventured into the world of entrepreneurship. He owned and operated Fuxa Construction, a company that became synonymous with quality and reliability. Bob's dedication to his craft was evident in every project he undertook.

Bob also served his country with honor, dedicating six years of his life to the Army Reserves. During his service, he took on various roles, working as both a lineman and a cook. Bob was an avid drawer of blueprints, a passion he nurtured until the final days of his life. He found solace and joy in bringing designs to life on paper, a testament to his creative spirit. Gardening allowed him to connect with nature and witness the beauty of growth firsthand, while music and reading provided him with endless inspiration and moments of reflection.

Family meant the world to Bob, and he cherished every moment spent with his loved ones. His warm presence and kind-hearted nature created a nurturing environment where family bonds thrived. He leaves behind a legacy of love, support, and unwavering dedication to those he held dear.

Bob's commitment to community service was exemplary. He was a former member of the Cedar Creek Fire Department, for an impressive 15 years, and he served as Chairman of the Cedar Creek Town Board, where his leadership and vision helped shape the town into a thriving community.

He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Fuxa of Cedar Creek, NE, children, Bobbi Fuxa of Omaha, NE, Kelly (Mark) Nebel of Sarasota, FL, Patti Lutz of Cedar Creek, NE, Kip (Sandy) Fuxa of Cedar Creek, NE, 8 grandchildren, Zachary Lutz, Blake (Hannah) Lutz, Madison (Nate) Schrum, Isabella Nebel, Cole Nebel, Ava Nebel, Grant Fuxa and Bruin Fuxa, brothers, Leonard (Lavonne) Fuxa, Jr. of Cedar Creek, NE, Eldon (Gloria) Fuxa of Cedar Creek, NE, Jim (Roxanne) Fuxa of Colorado Springs, CO, and Jerry (Jean) Fuxa of Grand Junction, CO.  He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard, and Lydia Fuxa.

A Celebration of Bob's Life will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at 4:00 PM at the Airboat Ramp on East Platteview Dr in Cedar Creek, NE.
