Calvin H. Stubbendeck was born on December 23, 1923 in Avoca, Nebraska to Fritz and Eda (Ehlers) Stubbendeck. He passed away on Tuesday, August 28, 2007 at the Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 83 years.

He was united in marriage on February 14, 1953 to Jo Ann Thimgan at First Lutheran Church (North Branch) in Rural Avoca, Nebraska. Calvin spent his life farming and caring for his family. He enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his Daughters: Janette Tutty and husband Doug of Lincoln, NE; Cindy Weiss and husband Mike of Johnson, NE; Son: Mark Stubbendeck and wife Shelley of Syracuse, NE; 6 Grandchildren, Brother: Edgar Stubbendeck and wife Eloise of Unadilla, NE; Sister-in-laws: Sylvia (Herman) Stubbendeck of Elmwood, NE; Jean Winkelhake of Omaha, NE Brothers-in-law: Gary Thimgan of Cook, NE; Lee Roy Thimgan of Cook, NE; Also survived by Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.

He is preceded in death by: Parents, wife, Jo Ann Stubbendeck; Parent-in-laws: Leo & Hazel Thimgan, Brothers: Herman, Clarence and Willis Stubbendeck, Sister: Eleanor Stubbendeck.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 31, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. at the First Lutheran Church (North Branch) in Rural Avoca, Nebraska with Rev. James Lindberg officiating.

Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 29th from 3:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. and Thursday, August 30th from 9:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. with family greeting friends from 6:00 until 7:30 P.M. at the Funeral Home. The Casket will be open one hour before services at the Church.
