Carol Ann (Paulsen) Gobber, 83 of Syracuse, formerly of Burr and Cook, passed away on May 29, 2023, at her home. She was born on April 10, 1940, to Elmer & Alma (Wendeln) Paulsen in Lincoln. On May 23, 1959, Carol married Mervin Gobber in Clarinda, IA.
Carol worked as a schoolteacher and librarian. She belonged to the Otoe County Genealogical Society and Red Hatters and was an avid shopper.
She is survived by her daughters Lisa Pretto, Pam (Allan) Hillman; grandchildren Sarah (Gabe) Meints, Kimberlyn Pretto, Hailey Pretto, Angie (John) Schlimme, Mandy (Travis) Denison, Samantha Pretto and Dennis Pretto; 8 great grandchildren, along with numerous extended family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, daughter Annette, parents, mother-in-law & father-in-law, brother & sister-in-law Larry & Shari Paulsen, brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law Lyle & Darleen Swift, Melvin & Hilda Gobber and Glen & Erma Gobber.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, June 6 at 2:00 p.m. at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in Syracuse. The service will be livestreamed on the Luther Memorial Church, NE YouTube page. Burial will follow at the Grace Lutheran Cemetery by Cook.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 5 from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. with family greeting friends from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home in Syracuse.
Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
