Carolyn Ann Gobber, 71 of Lincoln, was born on August 13, 1953, at Beale Airforce Base Hospital in California. She passed away on August 15, 2024, at her home in Lincoln.
Carolyn graduated from Syracuse High School with the Class of 1971. After high school, she continued her education and received a certificate in computer programming at Electronic Computer Programming Institute in Lincoln.
She began her computer career at Woodman Accident and Life in 1971 and retired 52 years later from what is now Assurity Life Insurance Company. You could also find her behind the counter for 27 years working part-time at Shopko in Lincoln.
Carolyn loved her Kansas City Royals and Lincoln Salt Dogs baseball teams. For her 70th birthday, family members celebrated with her at a Lincoln Salt Dogs baseball game.
Nothing pleased her more than spending time and keeping up with her great nieces, and nephews' sports activities.
She was preceded in death by her parents Glenn & Erma Gobber and great nephew Jordan Cash.
Those left to mourn are brother Ray (Mary) Gobber; sister Joyce (Steve) Oakley; nieces & nephews Jill (Brandon) King, Traci (Matt) Rathje, Stacy (Matt) Schieber, Kelly Gobber (partner Nick Hansen), Kyle (Karrington) Oakley; also great nieces & nephews, great-great nephew and extended family members, beloved co-workers and fellow season baseball ticket holders.
A big thank you to the special care givers for our sister from Tabitha Hospice.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 24th at 3 p.m. at the Luther Memorial Church in Syracuse, NE.
A celebration of life gathering will be held from 4-6:05 p.m. at the Fair Center located at 135 Plum St. in Syracuse.
Memorials are suggested to Helena Cemetery, Park Hill Cemetery or the United Way.
