Obituary

Charles F. "Charlie" Sayers was born on January 29, 1944 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Harold E. and Leona (Baker) Sayers. He passed away Friday, May 25, 2007 at his home in Murray, Nebraska at the age of 63 years.

He attended Plattsmouth High School and in 1962 entered into the United States Navy and served until 1965 during the Vietnam War. He was united in marriage on August 23, 1963 to Dana Hoschar at the Murray Christian Church in Murray, Nebraska. Charles worked for Wilson Concrete/Rinker Materials in Bellevue, Nebraska for 36 years as a job site and safety coordinator.

He was a member of the Murray Christian Church and served on the Murray Volunteer Fire Department for 11 years.

He is survived by his wife, Dana Sayers of Murray, NE, daughters, Monica Uhe and husband Duane of Nehawka, NE, Julie Slafter and husband Jeff of Unadilla, NE, son, Shawn Sayers and wife Miranda of Leigh, NE, grandchildren, Jennifer Uhe, Tyler Uhe, and Cody Slafter, brother, Havley Sayers and wife Minnie Mae of Murray, NE; sisters-in-law, Mary Ellen Everett of Plattsmouth, NE, Norma Jean Sayers of Glenwood, Iowa, one niece and four nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Jerry, niece Sheryl and mother and father-in-law, Dan and Lena Hoschar.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at 10:30 A.M. at the Murray Christian Church in Murray, Nebraska with Rev. Larry Hammons officiating.

Interment will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Rural Nehawka, Nebraska with military rites provided by the United States Navy.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 28, 2007 from 1:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. with family greeting friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorials be given to the Murray Christian Church or the Camp Quality Heartland.
