Clara E. Goering was born on February 25, 1902 in Syracuse, Nebraska to John and Mary (Post) Turre. She passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2007at the Senior Suites in Urbandale, Iowa at the age of 104, years, 11 months and 23 days.

After completing her schooling, she became a teacher, teaching in the rural schools around the Unadilla area. She was united in marriage on September 22, 1925 to Arnold Goering in Omaha, Nebraska, together they raised two children, John and Shirley.

She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Syracuse, Nebraska. She enjoyed sewing, crossword puzzles and working in her garden in her earlier years.

She is survived by her son, John Goering of Slidell, LA; daughter, Shirley Knickman of Des Monies, Ia; 6 Grandchildren, 15 Great Grandchildren, 13 Great Great Grandchildren. She was also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2007 at 10:30 A.M. at St. John's United Church of Christ in Syracuse, Nebraska with Rev. John Finster officiating.

Interment will be in the Park Hill Cemetery in Syracuse, Nebraska.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 20th from 5:00 until 9:00 P.M. and Wednesday, February 21st from 9:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. with family receiving friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given to the family of Clara Goering.
