Clarence "Wayne" Zeiger, 93 of Syracuse, passed away on June 21, 2017 at the Syracuse Good Samaritan Center. He was born to Fred & Nellie (Mae) Zeiger on August 26, 1923 in Grainton, NE.

Wayne served in the U.S. Navy Seabee's during WWII. He married Frances Cary on March 22, 1947 in Oberlin, KS. Wayne worked as a plant superintendent for American Cynamid. He was a member of the American Legion for 75 years, Knights of Columbus and former President of the Syracuse City Council. Wayne enjoyed wood carving, photography, cooking, calligraphy, genealogy and gardening.

He is survived by his Sons: Francis "Clifton" (Aileen) Zeiger of Wheaton, IL,  Frederic (LeeAnn) Zeiger of Syracuse; Daughter: Angela (Dale) Ripa of Lincoln;  Daughter-in-law: Janet Zeiger of Syracuse; Grandchildren: Rachel Zeiger, Kenneth Zeiger, Steven Zeiger, Matthew Zeiger, Paul Zeiger, Lucas Zeiger, Abraham Zeiger, John Mark Zeiger, Amelia Zeiger, Benjamin Zeiger, Cliff Zeiger, Lauren Briese, Madeline Vogel, Anna Ripa;  15 Great Grandchildren; Sister-in-law: Meta Mahoney of Cedar Rapids, NE; Also Survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his Parents, Wife: Frances; Son: Ronald; Grandsons; Ryan Zeiger & Anthony Zeiger.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Paulinus Catholic Church in Syracuse. Burial will be at Park Hill cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 26 from 9 A.M. until 4 P.M. at the funeral home and then with family greeting friends from 6-7 P.M. at church with the rosary at 7 P.M.

Memorials are suggested to the St. Paulinus Parish Hall Fund.
