OBITUARY
CLYDE ELDON "RED" BARRETT

Clyde Eldon "Red" Barrett was born June 2, 1934, in Nebraska City, Nebraska, to Hiley J. Sr. and Ehtel (Earith) Barrett. He passed away, Monday, July 7, 2008 at his home, in Syracuse, at the age 74 years, 1 month, and 5 days.

Red married Dorothy Gillispie on June 21st, 1954, in Kansas City, Missouri, and to this union they raised 4 sons, Lynn, David, Mike, and Jeff. He worked as an Electrical Contractor and was the Owner of "Red Dot Electric". He was a member of IBEW #1525 in Omaha, Past President, and assistant Business Agent. Red was a member of Eagles, of Nebraska City, United Methodist Church, Syracuse, NE, Methodist Men's Group, Good Sam Camping Club, avid traveler visiting every State Capitol Building, and he loved to sing Country Music.

Red is survived by his wife Dorothy, of Syracuse, sons Lynn and wife Perla, of Lincoln, NE David and wife Teresa, of Hastings, NE, Mike and wife Laurie, of Weeping Water, NE, and Jeff and wife Melissa, of Syracuse, NE, 6 grandchildren, his brothers Delbert Barrett, of Fremont, NE, Donald and wife Penny Barrett, of Salinas, CA, Ron and wife Regina Barrett, of Nebraska City, NE, sisters Virginia and husband Frank Huffman, of Texas, Catherine Olney, of Nebraska City, NE,

Red is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Bernard, Dale, Mervin, Hiley Jr., and Norman, sisters Thelma Womack and Betty Herold

Funeral Service will be Friday, July 11, 2008 at 10:30 A.M. at the United Methodist Church, at 6th and Chestnut Street, Syracuse, NE, with burial at Park Hill Cemetery, Syracuse, NE. Memorials are suggested to United Methodist Church, Syracuse.

VISITATION will be Thursday, July 10th 2008 from 9 A.M. until 9 A.M. with the family greeting from 6 until 8 P.M. all at the funeral home.
