Clyde J. Hunzeker, 91 of Syracuse, passed away at his daughter's house in Omaha under hospice care on April 16, 2014. Clyde was born to Clyde & Lily Hunzeker in Pawnee City, NE.

Clyde married Helen Freeman in 1944 in Hiawatha, KS. He is a WWII Army Veteran. He served under General Patton, was a veteran of the Battle of the Bulge and received a Purple Heart. Clyde farmed until 1960 when he opened Hunzeker's Clothing Store with his wife Helen.

Clyde was a member of the Masons, American Legion Post #100 and VFW Post #5547. He served as the Chamber of Commerce President and also owned a business in Syracuse from 1961-1989.

He is survived by his Daughter: Jacki (Wayne) Hamann of Omaha, NE, Son: Michael Brad (Nancy) Hunzeker of Syracuse, Grandsons: Dustin (Keisha) Hassenstab, Brandon Hamann & fiancé Dawn Snell, Mikhail (Robyn) Hunzeker, Great Grandsons: Miles Clyde Hassenstab, Ryker Thor Hunzeker, Brother: Hubert (Dorothy) Hunzeker of MN, Companion: Lucille Niebuhr of Syracuse, also many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his Parents, Wife Helen, Brother Lorain & wife Lucile.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday April 22 at 2 P.M. at the Fusselman-Allen-Harvey Funeral Chapel in Syracuse. Burial will be at Park Hill Cemetery.

The family suggests memorials to Wounded Warriors Fund or Alegent Creighton Hospice.

Visitation will be held on Monday April 21 from 9 A.M. until 9 P.M. and Tuesday 1 hour before the start of the service with family greeting friends.
