IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Connie A
Maier
September 11, 1949 – May 29, 2018
Connie A. Maier was born September 11, 1949 to Patrick and Marie (Fitzekam) Collins. She died Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at the Susan Buffet Cancer Center at the age of 68 years, 8 months, and 18 days.
Connie graduated from Bellevue High School. She worked at Werner Enterprises for 25 years in customer service. Connie married Larry Maier in Omaha on December 19, 1988. Connie enjoyed many things in her life. Some of them include baking cookies – especially at holidays when she shared them with her coworkers at Werner Enterprises, Larry's coworkers at Menards, and sending TWO BIG boxes of cookies to Texas for her family. She liked reading fiction and watching various TV shows like NCIS, American Idol and Dancing with the Stars. She was a sports fan – She didn't want to be interrupted during a Husker Football game on TV; was a NASCAR fan cheering for Menard's Car (Larry works for Menards) and Dale Earnhardt, Jr; enjoyed the Omaha Storm Chasers when they were in town and for holidays because she could just open the front door to see the fireworks from her recliner. Connie was a quiet person, but confident. At times her Irish temper came out. Most of all, she was so proud of her family and their activities, such as Daylen's musical plays and Devin's football.
Connie is survived by her husband- Larry of Omaha, daughter- Donia and husband Denver Meyer of Frisco, Texas; Granddaughter Daylen and Grandson Devin, sister - Patty Stewart of Omaha, Brother-in-law -Wayne Vanatta of Thurman, Iowa and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and sister – Kay Vanatta.
