Daisy Wendeln was born on November 1, 1913 in Syracuse, Nebraska to Rudolph and Elizabeth (Jacobs) Sugden. She passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2007 at Community Memorial Hospital in Syracuse, NE at the age of 93 years, 8 months and 25 days.

She attended Syracuse Schools and graduated in 1913 after graduating and obtaining a teaching certificate from Peru State College, she taught rural school until her marriage to Raymond Wendeln on September 3, 1938 in Papillion, Nebraska.

The couple began their marriage on a farm near Burr and were lifelong members of Hopewell Church. She enjoyed working with the United Presbyterian Women's group and held various offices there. She was also so member of the Friendly Neighbors Project Club for many years.

She enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzels and making quilts.

She is survived by her 3 Children: Roger Wendeln and wife Patty of Lincoln, NE: Dennis Wendeln of Syracuse, NE; Jean Buhrman and husband Ronald of Lincoln, NE; 8 Grandchildren: Rob, William & Billy John Wendeln, Rebecca, Mathias & Sarah Wendeln, Zachary & Nathan Buhrman. 5 Great Grandchildren; 2 Sisters: Hazel Steinhoff of Syracuse, NE and Fay Antes of Syracuse, NE; Sister-in-law: Leta Haeffner of Syracuse, NE She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband: Raymond Wendeln, 2 Brothers & 3 Sisters.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 28th from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and Sunday, July 29th from 9:00 AM until 9:00 PM with family greeting friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, July 30, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. at the Hopewell Cemetery with Rev. Barbara Thursby Officiating.

Memorials in Lieu of Flowers may be given to the Hopewell Church or the Hopewell Cemetery.
