Dale was born October 4, 1929, in Syracuse, Nebraska, to Elmer and Lillian (Borchers) Harms. He passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2009, at Bryan LGH/East Medical Center, Lincoln, Nebraska, at the age of 79 years, 10 months, and 12 days.
Dale married Shirley Holscher, on May 16, 1956, at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church, Syracuse, Nebraska, and to this union they raised 2 daughters Kyle, and Kim. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Dale was a member of the American Legion Post #100, and VFW #5547, both of Syracuse, Nebraska. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trapping. He loved being with his grandchildren as much as he could.
Dale is survived by his wife Shirley Harms, of Syracuse, NE, 2 daughters Kyle Anderson & husband David, of Syracuse, NE, Kim Randall & husband Kevin, of Bennet, NE, 7 grandchildren & 8 great grandchildren, sister Dee Cloyed & husband Norman, of Lincoln, NE, brother Jim Harms, Reno, NV, sisters-in-law Dolores Holscher, of Lincoln, NE, & Phyllis & husband Bill Gaedke, of Clovis, New Mexico, along with many other relatives & friends.
Dale is preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at Christ Lutheran Church, (Delaware), rural Syracuse, Nebraska, with burial at Park Hill Cemetery, Syracuse, Nebraska. Memorials are suggested to the American Legion Post #100, VFW #5547, both of Syracuse, NE, or Christ Lutheran Church (Delaware).
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 18, from 9 A.M. to 9 P.M. with the family greeting & receiving friends, from 6:30P.M. to 8:00 P.M. all at the Funeral Home Chapel.
