Obituary

Daniel Anthony Nicklen was born on February 28, 1927 to John Robert and Katherine Emma (Landgraf) Nicklen in Omaha, Nebraska He passed away on July 6, 2013 in Louisville at the age of 86 years, 4 months, and 9 days.

Daniel married Donna Rae Willoughby on August 27, 1949. To this union, were born three children – David; Daniel, Junior; and Darla. He served his country by being in the Navy from 1944 through 1948. Daniel was employed by OPPD for 40 years. He was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church in Louisville, the American Legion, High Voltage Retirement Club, and El Poco – a power Company Group. Daniel thoroughly enjoyed watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren's activities.

Daniel Nicklen, Senior is survived by wife Donna, Cedar Creek, NE; Children – David and wife Mary Nicklen, El Paso, Texas; Daniel Junior and wife Carol Nicklen,Atlanta, Georgia; Darla and husband Robert McDonald, Cedar Creek, NE; Sisters – Marian Nicklen, Betty Koborg, Florence and husband Tom Shapland; 9 grandchildren – Challen Nicklen and husband David Sobek, Cassandra Nicklen, Brian and wife Keri Nicklen, Sara and husband Nate Hammond, Kevin Nicklen, Anthony and wife Kelly Hillabrand, Tiffany and husband Justin Peacock, and Mark and wife Cassandra Hillabrand and Christy and husband Zachary Davis; 15 great grandchildren – Emily and Molly Sobeck, Evelyn and William Nicklen, Brianna and Nellie Hammond, Sydney, Brett, Danny, and Hailey Hillabrand, Jacob and Charlee Peacock, Zachary, Katherine, and Faith Hillabrand.

Funeral Services will be Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church, Louisville, NE. Private Family Interment will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Omaha, NE.. Visitation will be from noon until 9 on Monday, July 8, at the Funeral Home with family present from 6-8 PM. Memorials are suggested to the Louisville First United Methodist Church or to Donor's Choice. Condolences may be left at www.fusselmanallenharvey.com
