Obituary

On February 12, 1928 Darl Dee Carpenter was born in Nebraska to Erma and Alva Carpenter.  He was their oldest child and they were to have three more sons and a daughter.  Darl was a tall, quiet student who played basketball and football in his hometown of Douglas, Nebraska. He loved to joke that he was a "star" but then would add there were only seven students in his senior class.  He joined the Army after High School and then the Air Force where he finished his 26 years retiring as a MSgt. in the early 1970's.

Darl was preceded in death by his wife Jackie, daughter Darla, brother Roy, sister Colleen, mother Erma and father Alva. His living family includes daughters Dian (Randy), Lori (Jim) and Karrie(Pete). Grandchildren include Chad, Ryan, Heather (Glenn), Liana (Eric), Alex, Martin (Johanna), Katie (Matt).  Great Grandchildren include Alec, Reece, Sawyer, Jessica, Danny, Genevieve, Ruby Jean & Eli.  He leaves two brothers, Duane (Beverly) and Jay (Irene) and many nieces and nephews.

Darl Dee Carpenter was a simple kind man with a life full of honor and duty. He loved to check out his daughter's tires to make sure their cars were safe. He traveled the world but his heart was always in Douglas Nebraska where he has now returned.  He was a farmer at heart and would smile and say "Glad you got to see me". With deep love we say "Glad we got to know you!" We won't say goodbye but instead just "Good night."
