Daryl L. Stubbendeck, 68, of Palmyra, passed away at his home on September 13, 2025. He was born May 31, 1957, in Syracuse, to Otto and Marie (Kimbell) Stubbendeck.

Daryl graduated from Palmyra High School and began his career with Dobson Construction before working for Lincoln Public Schools in building maintenance, where he dedicated 40 years of service.

He loved sprint car racing and especially enjoyed trips to Knoxville, Iowa. Daryl also cherished his cattle and the simple life that came with living on the farm. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, driving the countryside or stopping to have a visit with a friend.

He is survived by siblings Kathryn (Edward) Vader, Donald (Aida) Stubbendeck, Janis (Ace) Johnson, Loren Stubbendeck, Clark Stubbendeck, and Roger Stubbendeck; special friends Cory and Moriah Lenz and their children Aroara, Emmit, Finley, and Ledger; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Gayle and Bill Stubbendeck, and his dog, Grizzly.

Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.

A Celebration of Life to honor Daryl's memory will be held at the Elmwood Fire Station in Elmwood, NE on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 4:00 pm followed by a reception.
