David L. Berner was born on September 1, 1955 in Syracuse, Nebraska to Dean and Norma (Sudman) Berner. He died at his home in Avoca on March 8, 2014 at the age of 58 years, 6 months, and 7 days.

Dave served his country in the Army from September 25, 1974 to October 18, 1976. He married Debra Doeden on September 22, 1990 at Luther Memorial Church in Syracuse. He had two sons-Jason and Shad. He loved riding horses, hunting, fishing, and spending time with family, friends and his pets.

Dave is survived by his wife of 23 years Debra, sons Jason and wife Lori, Shad and wife Kirby, grandchildren Kody, Logan, Mitchell, Titus, and Lilly, parents Dean and Norma, brother Don and wife Tammy, sister Carol, and best friend Ringo. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Linda Doedon, father-in-law Robert and wife Cheryl Doeden, brother-in-law Steve and wife Kayleen Doeden, nieces Brianne Berner and Brynne Berner and nephews Dillon Doeden and Brandon Doeden, as well as numerous friends.

Dave was preceded in death by his brother Darrell, and sister Shirley.

Memorial services for Dave Berner will be Thursday, March 13, 2014, at 11:00 A.M. at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church, 1162 Mohawk Street, Syracuse, NE with Pastor Sarah Cordray officiating.

Family Suggests Memorials to the family for future designation.

VISITATION will be Wednesday, March 12, 2014 from 9:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. with family greeting friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. all at the Funeral Home.
