Dean J. Berner, 95 of Syracuse, passed away on December 30, 2017 at the Syracuse Good Samaritan Center. He was born on March 6, 1922 to Fred & Emma Berner in Avoca, NE.
Dean married Norma Sudman on April 17, 1945 at the First Lutheran Church (North Branch). He worked at a feed lot for 10 years, farmed and also owned Berner's Western Wear for 15 years in Syracuse. He was part of the Cass county sheriff's mounted posse and participated in roping at rodeos.
Dean is survived by his Daughter: Carol Berner; Son: Don (Tammy) Berner. Also many grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great grandchildren, step-great grandchildren, a great great grandchild, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Norma, daughter Shirley, sons: Darrell & David, and siblings: Ruth Lueking, Gladys Koster, Viola Berner, Clara Rietsch, William Berner, Mary Knake, and Henry Berner.
Memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at First Lutheran Church (North Branch) in rural Avoca. Burial will be at a later date.
No visitation.
Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
