Dean L. DeLong, Jr. age 69 of Louisville, Nebraska passed away on October 16, 2023 at Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska.  He was born on April 26, 1954 in Kearney, Nebraska to Dean L., Sr. and Ila J. (Smith) DeLong.

Dean graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1972 and then enrolled in the University of Nebraska Lincoln where he obtained his bachelor's degree in Forestry.  He was united in marriage to Denise Troutt on March 24, 1979 in Lincoln, Nebraska.  Dean began a career with the Nebraska State Parks Commission and served at the Assistant Supervisor for the Louisville State Lakes for 39 ½ years.

He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, camping and hiking.  Dean and Denise loved spending time in the mountains of Colorado and watching NASCAR.

He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Elicia and Greg Laabs of Hastings, NE, nephews, Ryan & Luke Mahoney of Hastings, NE, mother-in-law, Alvia Troutt of Lincoln, NE, sisters-in-law, Debbie Zwiener and Dixie Welter, brother-in-law, Daniel Troutt, their spouses., and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dean and Ila DeLong Sr., wife Denise DeLong, and father-in-law, Samuel Troutt.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023 from 11:00 AM until 3:00 PM at the Fusselman-Allen-Harvey Funeral Home in Louisville, Nebraska.
