Dean Philip Kraft was born on February 21, 1926 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Philip & Gladys (West) Kraft. He passed away on October 31, 2012 at the Syracuse Good Samaritan Society at the age of 86 years, 8 months, and 10 days.

Dean grew up around Cook and later moved to Syracuse. He worked as a farmer and also was a truck driver for many years. Dean joined the Army and served from 1950 to 1952. He was very active in the VFW Post #5547 in Syracuse including playing Santa Claus at the Legion Club. He loved to play cards and visiting with his family and friends.

Dean is survived by his Sister: Ruth Johnson of Omaha, NE, Nephew: Don & Petey Dorr of Harrisburg, PA, Nieces: Elaine & David Dyke of Lincoln, NE, Kathy & Bill Clary of Dallas, TX and Sue Johnson of Alexandria, VA. Also numerous great nieces & nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sister: Marjorie Dorr, Brothers-in-law: Russell Dorr & Don Johnson.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 3, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at the Fusselman-Allen-Harvey Funeral Home Chapel in Syracuse, Nebraska with Father Michael Stec & Rev. Mary Grundman officiating. Burial will follow at the Park Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday November 2, 2012 from 9 A.M. until 9 P.M. at the Funeral Home.

Memorials may be directed to the Syracuse Rescue Squad or Syracuse Good Samaritan Center.
