Deborah M. Knutson, age 69, of Cedar Creek, Nebraska, peacefully passed away surrounded by family on Friday, January 12, 2024, at her home in Cedar Creek. She was born on May 10, 1954, at Eglin AFB in Florida to Shelley and Mary (Davis) Cosson.

After her dad was stationed in Bellevue, they eventually made their home in Cedar Creek. Deborah attended and graduated from Louisville High School in 1972. It was during this time that she crossed paths with Tom Knutson, and on February 2, 1973, they were united in marriage at the Methodist Church in Louisville. Together, they cherished over 50 years of marriage and raised two wonderful children, Shannon and Shad.

Throughout her career, Deborah worked for Guarantee Mutual in Omaha and dedicated over 20 years of service at Home State Bank in Louisville. A true passion for caring for children led her to run an in-home Day Care, even in her early retirement years. Children brought immense joy to her life, and she warmly opened her home to many kids over the years.

Beyond her professional life, Deborah found joy in spending time in Florida. Hosting large family events for holidays or attending Husker parties were of great importance to her. She was an active member of the Cedar Creek Fire Department Auxiliary.

Deborah is survived by her loving husband, Tom Knutson of Cedar Creek, children Shannon (Mike Lefler) Knutson of Lincoln, NE, Shad Knutson of Omaha, NE, grandson Easton, adopted granddaughter, Ella Johnson, sister Mary (Don) Muntz of Cedar Creek, NE, brother Alfred "Bub" Cosson of Cedar Creek, NE, half-brother Larry (Jeanene) Cosson of Panama City, FL, and Butch (Rita) Cosson of Panama City, FL, and aunt Ella Mae Rutzebeck of Clearmont, FL.  She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, nephews, Mark and Mike Wiles.

Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at 1:30 PM at the Louisville Methodist Church in Louisville, NE with Rev. Dean McPherson officiating.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 16, 2024, from 1:00 PM until 8:00 PM with family greeting friends from 6-8 PM at the Fusselman-Allen-Harvey Funeral Home, 413 Elm Street, Louisville, NE.

Memorial may be directed to the family for future designation.
