Obituary

Dick H. Kirchhoff, 82, a resident of Morton House Assisted Living, Nebraska City, NE died December 6, 2011, after a courageous battle against Parkinson's Disease. Born April 2, 1929, near Weeping Water, NE to Hy D. and Mary (Minderman) Kirchhoff. Member of First Lutheran (North Branch) where he was baptized and confirmed. Dick attended Pine School, a rural Cass County elementary school. Dick retired as an electrician with a 59-year membership of IBEW, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He enjoyed working at the missile base in WY, N.A.S.A. in LA, McMickals Arena, Budweiser Brewery, and Air Force Academy all in CO, Greyhound Expo and Expo Tech in NV as well as many other states. He formerly lived in Denver, CO and Las Vegas, NV most of his adult life. His passion was dancing and a good game of poker, especially Texas Hold-Um.

Family members include brother Dr. Leo H. Kirchhoff, Chico, CA and sister Erma (Kirchhoff) Bettinger, and brother-in-law Bernie, Oakdale, MN; sister-in-law Gladys Kirchhoff, Syracuse, NE; Nieces Diane (John) Reuss, Weeping Water, NE, Vicki (Jay Carstens) Kirchhoff, Lincoln, NE., Coralie (Mark) Harris, Eagan, MN., Amy (Stefan) Babirad, Oakdale, MN; and nephew Steven Bettinger, High Point, NC. Uncle George and aunt Hilda Kirchhoff, Weeping Water, NE and uncle Howard Jacobsen, Syracuse, NE. Preceded in death by parents, brother Glenn, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Suggested memorials to First Lutheran, Tabitha Healthcare (819 Central Ave., Nebraska City, NE 68410) or American Parkinson's Disease Association, (601 North 30th, Omaha, NE 68131). Memorial services scheduled for Saturday, December 17, at 1:30 p.m. at First Lutheran (North Branch) rural Avoca, NE. Rev. Jackie K Tjarks, officiating. No visitation due to cremation.
