Dolores Elizabeth Bertha Bruns, age 92 of Syracuse, was born May 7th, 1924 to Alma Windels Steinhoff and Eddie Steinhoff on a farm in Syracuse, Nebraska. She took the Lords hand on May 22, 2016 at the Syracuse Community Memorial Hospital.

Dolores was a teacher at several country schools surrounding Syracuse. She married Ernest E. Bruns, and to this union they had 2 children Robert and Nancy.

Dolores enjoyed spending time with her family, playing cards, gardening and baking.

Dolores is survived by her son: Bob (Kathy) Bruns, of Syracuse, Nebraska, and daughter: Nancy Olson, of Lincoln, grandchildren: Patrick (Hong) Bomberger, Amy (Tim) Frederick, Staci (Dave) Watenpaugh, and Corie (Kirk) Gorton, great grandchildren: Tanis and Syrus Bomberger, Shae, Christian, Shyanne Frederick, Jake and Ty Gorton, Garret & Mackenzie Watenpaugh, great great granddaughter: Tesla Tanis Bomberger, sisters-in-law: Helen Aden & Pauline Peterson, also many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Eddie and Alma Steinhoff, Ernest Bruns, sisters: Aldean (Norman) Antes, and Ruby (Burton) Copenhaver, special friend John Garver, and in-laws: Maynard (Geraldine) Bruns, Dwight Peterson, Cal (Harriet) Bruns, and Paul Aden.

Memorial Service will be Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in Syracuse. No visitation.

In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Syracuse Food Pantry.
