Donald R. Brasfield was born on March 10, 1956 in Keiser, Arkansas to Welton and Lettia M. (Keck) Brasfield. He passed away on Friday, October 16, 2009 at his home in Firth, NE at the age of 56 years, 7 months and 6 days.

Donald was united in marriage to Mary E. Hetzler on September 9, 1977 in Denver City, Texas and together they raised two children, Christie and Terry. He worked in the oil fields in Texas prior to moving to Firth, Nebraska ten years ago.

He was a member of the Firth Reformed Church. Don enjoyed gardening, fishing, cooking, he especially enjoyed working with his hands, making things out of wood or just taking something apart to see how it worked. A highlight in his life was the time that he was able to spend with this grandchildren.

He is surived by Wife: Mary Brasfield of Firth, NE; Children: Christie Brazier and husband Josh of Firth, NE; Terry Brasfield of Firth, NE; Grandchildren: Stephen Brazier, Jackey Brasfield, Sarah Brazier, Joshua Brazier; Sisters: Ann Hartman and husband Jerry of Plains, TX; Barbara Young of Bledsoe, TX; Jeannie Bunch of Hobbs, NM; Twin Sisters: Lisa & Teresa Brasfield of Ashdown, AR; Brother: Wilton Brasfield and wife Lavina of Brownfield, TX; Bobby Bunch and wife Lisa of San Angelo, TX, Ernest Brasfield. Brother-in-law: Amos Bunch of Odessa, TX Father & Mother-in-law: Larry & Helen Hetzler of Plattsmouth, NE; Sister-in-law: Teresa Wallace and husband Casey of Wausaukee, WI. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

he was preceded in death by his parents, twin daughters (1979); sisters, Betty Bunch and Jo Baldwin.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at Fusselman-Wymore Funeral Home, 306 N. 7th Street, Plattsmouth, NE 68048 with Pastor John Barbison officiating.

Burial will follow the memorial service in Oak Hill Cemetery, Plattsmouth, NE.

No visitation or viewing.
