Donald Fredrick Glynn, 96, of Louisville, NE, passed away at home with family on Wednesday, January 29, 2025.

Don was born to Golden and Lorraine Glynn of West Des Moines, Iowa, on February 27, 1928. After graduating from high school, Don joined the US Navy and was stationed in Rhode Island, where he met and married the love of his life, Carolyn Rose Kerns.

They spent the next 66 years happily married, calling Atlantic, Iowa, home. They raised three children there, and Don had a long and thriving career in the grocery business. Don was a proud father and an adoring grampy. He was an avid golfer and bowler, and he loved to go dancing with Carol and play bridge. Don was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Elks Club, the Atlantic Golf and Country Club, Nishna Hills Golf Club, and a church elder. Don enjoyed watching football and cheering for the Huskers, Hawkeyes, and Wolverines. He loved spending time with his family most of all. He lived his life with joy and happiness, always with a smile. We, his family, find peace knowing that the smile he has now, reunited with Carol, is his biggest smile yet.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Patty, Joann, and Donna, beloved wife Carolyn, loving son Danny, youngest grandson Casey, and many other loved ones and friends.

Don is survived by his loving children, Pam (Lowell) and Randy (Val); Grampy to his grateful grandkids Brent, Ronni, Niki (Kyle), Nate (Kate), Luke (Mari); Great Grampy to Golden, Harrington, Matilda, Izzy, Naomi, Mackenzie, and Jalen; and several nieces and nephews.

Don was loved by many and will be missed by all the friends he made at the Louisville Care Center. The family also sends special thanks to the caring staff at the Louisville Care Center.

Graveside Services will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Omaha National Cemetery, 14250 Schram Rd, Omaha, NE 68138
