Donna Jean was born August 24, 1929, in rural Syracuse, Nebraska, to Elmer and Anna (Post)Janssen. She passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2009, at Bryan LGH West Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska, at the age of 79 years, 4 months, and 14 days.
Donna Jean married Bill Kehlbeck, on October 11, 1946, in Hanover, Kansas, and to this union they raised 3 children, Dalton, Kathie, and Janet. She worked as the Bookkeeper for Bill's Oil Business, and also for the U.S. Census Bureau. Donna Jean was a member of Luther Memorial Lutheran Church, Church Choir, Altar Guild, Church Women's Group, was a Band Mother, enjoyed traveling, taking photo's, fishing. She was a 4-H, Brownie, and Girl Scout Leader's. She enjoyed playing cards, cooking, sewing, canning, and working with flowers.
Donna Jean is survived by her husband Bill Kehlbeck, of Syracuse, Nebraska, son Dalton Kehlbeck and wife Jan, of Lenexa, Kansas, 2 daughters Kathie Pape and husband Wayne, of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Janet Chaussee and husband Thomas, of Omaha, Nebraska 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, along with many other relatives, and friends.
Donna Jean is preceded in death by her parents, sister Velma Horns and husband Alvin, brother Orlin Janssen, and nephew Dennis Horns.
Her Memorial Services will be Monday January 12, 2009 at 2:30 P.M. at Luthera Memorial Lutheran Church, in Syracuse, Nebraska.
Visitation to sign the Book only will be Friday January 9th from 9 A.M. until 5 P.M., and Monday January 12, from 9
A.M. until 11:30 A.M. and the family will meet with relatives and friends One Hour before the Memorial Services on Monday in the Social Hall of the Church.
In Inurnment of the Ashes will be held with a Privat Family Graveside Services to be held later.
Memorials in Lieu of Flowers are suggested to Luther Memorial Lutheran Church or the Food Pantry.
