Doris N. Knox, 86, of Syracuse, was called home to her Savior on July 7, 2026, surrounded by family. She was born on May 6, 1940, in Lincoln to Roy F. Karr and Myrtle Grace (Yarnall) Karr. She graduated from Southeast High School in 1958.

On June 26, 1959, Doris was united in marriage to Donald D. Knox in Lincoln. She was a devoted homemaker who found great joy in caring for her family. She embraced every role she held—wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother—with love. Her home was always open, and she believed there was “always room for one more,” welcoming not only her own children and grandchildren but also countless foster children and friends who became part of her family.

She was actively involved in her community wherever she lived. Doris enjoyed crocheting and quilting. Most importantly, she was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ, and her faith was the foundation of her life.

Doris is survived by her husband, Don Knox; children Debra Wood (Mike Douglas), Pam (Kelly) Higgins, Donald (Rebecca) Knox, Allen (Michelle) Fulcher, Steve Kightlinger, Randy (Sally) Knox, Dan (Kris) Knox, Bruce Siffring, and Kelly (Bryan) Guern; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and many foster children and extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held at the Syracuse Bible Church on Wednesday, July 15th at 1:30 p.m. The service will be livestreamed on the Syracuse Bible Church YouTube page.

Memorials are suggested to the Syracuse Rescue Squad.
