Dorothy Mary Splitt was born on January 11, 1923 in Otoe, Nebraska to Elmer and Hazel (McClane) Horner. She passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2010 at the Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital in Hastings, Nebraska at the age 0 87 years, 1 month and 7 days.
Dorothy was united in marriage on May 3, 1941 in Rockport, Missouri to William Splitt. They eventually made their home in the Rural Murray area and raised three children, Dwight, Steven and Sharon. Dorothy was very active in the United Methodist Church in Plattsmouth, she was a member of the Nebraska City American Legion Auxillary and a 25+ year member of the Murray Homemakers Extension Club. She also enjoyed playing in the Marathon Card Club.
She is survived by Near Relatives Surviving: Sons: Dwight Splitt and wife Marlene of Hastings, NE; Steven Splitt and wife Judy of North Platte, NE; Daughter: Sharon Buman and husband Ron of Clearwater, FL; Sisters Veda Bennett of Nebraska City, NE; Thelma Schroeder of Cortland, NE; 6 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren
She was preceded in death by Parents, husband William Splitt (Sept 19, 1983), brother, Floyd Horner, sister, Bertha Morton
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 22, 2010 at 10:30 A.M. at the Fusselman-Wymore Funeral Home in Plattsmouth with Rev. Larry Biederman officiating.
Visitation will be Sunday, February 21st from 1:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. with family greeting friends from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home.
At the request of the family, the casket will remain closed.
Interment will be in Lewiston Cemetery in Rural Murray, Nebraska
Memorials may be directed to the Murray Rescue Squad or the Lewiston Cemetery Association.
