Edith Parson was on born January 24, 1927, in Cedar Creek, Nebraska to Lloyd and Esther (Noyes) Schneider. She died Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at the Louisville Care Community Assisted Living in Louisville, Nebraska at the age of 89 years, 11 months, and 17 days.
Edith worked as a school teacher before her marriage. Edith married Boyne Parson on July 16, 1945 in Hiawatha, Kansas and together they celebrated 70 years together before Boyne's death in 2014. To this union, they raised two children Laura and Barry. Edith enjoyed many activities – cards, especially pinochle, puzzles, trips to Branson, quilting, bowling, flowers, but most of all her family. She was active in the Louisville First United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women's group. Edith became the Cedar Creek Postmistress and served over twenty years in this position. She was State President of the Nebraska State Postmasters Association.
Surviving Edith are Daughter Laura Ahl, Son Barry & Jody Parson, grandchildren - Trevor Parson, and Ryan Parson, Derek Ahl, Karla Ahl-Espejo, Megan Waller, great grandchildren - Tom Ahl, Sam Ahl, Hannah Parson, Daniel Parson, Andrew Parson, Cash Parson, Bryce Parson, Grant Parson, Jackson Waller, Brooklyn Waller, and Sophia Waller.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Boyne, and brother Robert Schneider.
Services will be Friday January 13, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at First United Methodist Church, 222 Walnut Street, Louisville, Nebraska, with burial at Glendale Cemetery in rural Louisville, Nebraska. Memorials are suggested to First United Methodist Church, Louisville, Nebraska. VISITATION Thursday, January 12th from 1-9 P.M. with the family greeting friends from 6-8 P.M. all at the funeral home
